Mondo to Begin a Terrence Malick Director Series with Tomer Hanuka's Badlands

Tomorrow, March 19th, Mondo will release fantastic new prints by Tomer Hunka for the film "Badlands."  Mondo has also announced that this print will begin a Terrence Malick directors series in 2015, similar to the Paul Thomas Anderson series curated by Aaron Horkey in 2013.

They are incredibly vibrant and make for a nice juxtaposition between the more comic-like depiction of the characters. It also perfectly captures the themes of the film, which Tomer describes aptly:

"As bodies pile up in BADLANDS, and Kit & Holly drive deeper into a fairy tale of dreamy romance and desensitized violence, it is our sinful desires they're burdening, embodied here by Sheen, crucified against an all American sky."

The title, which is broken up in three lines, was done by Avi Neeman and works really well here.  And while we're partial to the more vibrant colors of the regular, any fan of the film would be lucky to own either version.

Drop Details: These will both go on sale tomorrow, March 19th, at a random time on Mondo's site. The regular is an edition of 275 and will cost $45, while the variant has an edition of 125 and will cost $65. Both prints measure 24x36 and will be hand numbered. To those going for these, Good Luck!
